Trade show host for Scania in the Future Energy Forum at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover
In 2024 Scania was present at IAA Transportation in Hanover with its "Future Energy Forum" – a stage of its own on the stand, given over to the drivetrains and the energy of tomorrow's commercial vehicles. Felix Uhlig hosted the forum across the whole fair. For Scania it was a first: until then the company had never booked an external host for this format.
The schedule ran to the minute across the six days of the fair. Eleven slots, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with only the morning slot on the final day. Each one consisted of a guest's ten-minute talk followed by an interview, twenty minutes at most in total. Everything was carried on the large LED wall on the stand.
The fair had two halves in terms of content, and that changes the hosting. From Tuesday to Thursday the audience was made up of business owners, fleet decision-makers and buyers – people who do the maths: range, charging infrastructure, running costs. From Friday to Sunday the drivers came. The same stage, the same technology, an entirely different way of looking at it. Run both on the same script and you lose one of the two groups.
Every slot was preceded by half an hour with the guest – across eleven slots, an item in the daily schedule in its own right. On top of that came the preparation before the fair. Both are the part of the work nobody sees from the stage, and both decide whether a twenty-minute format holds up.
