A guide through the online jungle
Happy guests, because they know where they are.
An experienced online event host is the likeable link between the audience and the programme, and gives people their bearings.
Which event am I actually in? Is this the right room for the talk I picked? How do I connect with the other participants? When is the lunch break? When is speaker XYZ on again?
By answering those questions, the online event host gives viewers confidence and heads off frustration in the online event jungle.
I make sure the first impression is a professional one, because I am the first person the participants see.

At home online, and not just since 2020
Why Felix Uhlig as your online event host.
At events, trade shows, galas and talks – and not just since 2020, also at live streams, video conferences and hybrid events. From the first exchange of ideas through planning to delivery, you can rely on my experience completely.
No applause to lean on
On stage the room carries you. Online nothing carries you. I build the energy out of nothing and hold it for hours.
The silent drop
After 20 minutes the first people start leaving. I know when to change pace before it happens.
When the technology stalls
A speaker drops out, a clip freezes. I fill the gap without it sounding like filling.
Online event host
Formats I host online.
From the first idea to the moment the camera goes live.
Online event
From 50 to 5,000 participants. I keep attention high, even when the inbox is open in the next window.
Online kickoff
Transformation, new structure, new targets. I make sure the message lands instead of disappearing into slide 47.
Online conference
Several tracks, many speakers, a tight schedule. I hold the thread and the timing.
Virtual workshop
A small group, real participation. I host so that even the quiet ones on the call say something.
Live stream
Product launch, trade show, studio. I work closely with the director and the crew so it runs live exactly as rehearsed.
Online awards ceremony
Celebrating the winners without it turning stiff. Timing, introductions, handovers. All of it lands.

A selection. Not every one of these was a purely online event – many ran as a live stream, a video production, or hybrid with an audience in the room.
Likeable, dependable, with a feel for the room
Technology in the real world of events.
Professional, enthusiastic and cooperative, Felix contributed substantially to the success of the IoT Show at the Samsung stand at IFA. The way he presented and demonstrated the products drew large numbers of visitors. Thank you for six days of great work.
Hera KimSenior Account Manager at E.STYLE LMCHe hosted our complex subject outstandingly, motivated the participants and entertained them superbly.
Hats off – you got the school teams, the company representatives and Professor Würth and his wife genuinely excited. Chapeau!

Date, subject, occasion and the platform you'll be broadcasting on – that's all I need to get started.
Conversation
We go through the running order, the speakers and the tone. 20 to 30 minutes by video. After that I know everything I need.
Tech check
Before every online event, a run-through with the director and the crew: sound, picture, clips, handovers. The difference from a stage is that online nobody can improvise once the sound is gone.
Broadcast day
From my studio or from your set. On air on time, calm when things go wrong, and there until the last participant has left.

FAQ
An online event host guides people through a digital or hybrid event: welcoming, framing, introducing speakers, running interviews, holding the schedule and giving orientation. Which event am I in, what happens next, when is the break – online nobody answers those questions in passing. And when the technology stalls, the host fills the gap without it sounding like filling.
Over 16 years of experience on the hosting side, German and English at native level, relief for your speakers and event managers, a sure touch when it comes to keeping to time, likeable interaction with the participants, and support in planning the programme. Plus long experience with the various presentation tools, real digital fluency, and a willingness to go the extra mile to make a project work.
Yes, which means you can save yourself the travel. The home studio has professional 4K camera equipment, professional lighting, professional microphones for high-quality sound, a stable fibre connection at 300 Mbit/s over LAN, and a real green screen – for your corporate colours or a company backdrop, for example. For podcasts there is also a RØDE Rodecaster Pro, two RØDE Procaster microphones, cables, headphones and stands.
Among others Slido, Mentimeter, AhaSlides, Kahoot, Keynote, PowerPoint, teleprompter, in-ear intercom, Numbers, Pages, Excel and Word. Which platform carries the stream itself depends on your setup – I get to grips with whatever you are running.
On stage the room carries you: applause, laughter, eye contact. Online nothing carries you. The energy has to be built out of nothing and held for hours, against an inbox open in the second window. Then there is the pace: after about 20 minutes the first people leave if nothing happens. Anyone who has done both knows when to change gear.
Yes, and it is the most demanding case of all. There are people in the room and people in front of screens, and both groups have to feel included. In practice that means: questions from the chat go into the room, reactions from the room get described for the stream, and nobody listens to a camera they cannot see for twenty minutes.
Yes, both at native level, including switching between them within the same event. At international online events the audience sits in several countries anyway – language is then the only border left.
A professional host in Germany usually costs a four-figure sum per event day. With online events the travel and the hotel fall away, while a tech check and a rehearsal may be added depending on the format. The price depends on length, preparation and languages. Just call: +49 40 1805 80 80.
From 50 to 5,000 – and technically the ceiling is open. For the hosting itself less changes than you might think: beyond a certain size the chat becomes an audience of its own that has to be hosted alongside, rather than simply answered.
For a straightforward talk, not necessarily. For anything with clips, handovers or several speakers, absolutely. Online nobody can improvise once the sound is gone or a video refuses to start. A run-through the day before costs an hour and takes the biggest risk out of the broadcast day.
Yes, any time. Whether I broadcast from my own studio or come to your set is a question of production scale and how the picture should look. For larger productions with a director, several cameras and an audience on site, I am there in person.
Three to six months is usual, though online events often work at shorter notice than in-person ones: there is no journey and no hotel night to get in the way. Once the date is set, a short email is worth it. Even if nothing else has been decided yet.
