An event host guides people through the running order of an event, introduces speakers, runs interviews, holds the schedule and connects the programme with the audience. A professional event host in Germany usually costs a four-figure sum per event day. The price depends on the scope: length, preparation, languages, travel. For fixed dates, three to six months' lead time is usual, and earlier for events in the autumn. Short-notice enquiries are always possible nonetheless. Once the date is set, a short email is worth it. Even if nothing else has been decided yet.

It's possible, but it has two drawbacks: that person is lost to their actual job, and they are hosting in front of colleagues who know them. An external host brings distance, routine and full concentration on the running order. And you get to network instead of coordinating backstage.

A speaker brings the content, a host brings the structure. The host introduces, frames, asks questions and keeps the audience with it. The two roles complement each other but don't replace each other. You bring the content, I bring the flow.

Yes, regularly. The location makes no difference; I organise the travel myself. It has happened more than once that I was on a plane in the morning and on a stage in Amsterdam that evening.

I live in Hamburg and host across Germany and internationally. Regularly in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hanover, Cologne and Düsseldorf. For events in Hamburg you get the home advantage: no travel, no overnight stay.
