Event host Cologne: for trade shows, galas and livestreams
Cologne is the city where a trade show turns into an event. gamescom, Anuga, IDS, DMEXCO, imm cologne, spoga+gafa, INTERMOT: it isn't only buyers standing in the halls here, it is also hundreds of thousands of people who came of their own accord.

The Cologne factor
Felix Uhlig as an event host in Cologne
That changes everything on stage.
In front of a professional audience you can work with data. In front of an audience that is there voluntarily, you have twenty seconds to give them a reason to stay. I can do both, and I know which is called for when.
Then there is the second Cologne speciality: broadcasters and production companies are based in this city, and a camera is running next to the stage correspondingly often. An appearance that works in the room is far from working in the stream. I have been hosting both for years, live and in front of the lens.
And because the Rhineland is international: German and English at native level, in the same programme, without anyone dropping out.

How I host in Cologne
A full house is not yet an attentive house.
The difference between a hall full of people and an audience is the hosting. At a consumer trade show people walk past four stages at once. They stop if something happens in the first few seconds that they weren't expecting.
After that, what matters is whether someone holds them.
I bring people to the stage, keep them there and hand them on in such a way that your message has landed. And when a camera is running, I host for both: for those in the room and for those watching later.
What that means for you, in concrete terms:

Passers-by become an audience.
At a consumer trade show you win nobody with an announcement. I play into the aisle and give people a reason to look at the next stand later.
Room and stream both get hosted.
Hosting only for the room loses the viewers on screen. I factor the camera in from the start, without it feeling staged in the room.
English that non-native speakers understand too.
Native level, but deliberately measured. Clear sentences, a clean pace, no idioms that evaporate in the room.
Entertainment that doesn't hide the brand.
At an entertainment trade show it is allowed to be fun. At the end someone still has to be able to say what it was about.
Your team works instead of hosting.
Your best people belong in conversation at the stand or behind the direction desk, not behind the microphone.
The hall by day, the awards after.
Many Cologne dates are both on the same day. A host who already knows your subject saves you the second briefing.
Brands like Würth, SIXT, Samsung, Audi and Faber-Castell trust me with their stage. Not because I'm loud, but because I deliver reliably.
In Cologne I have hosted for Faber-Castell at CCXP and an award show for Ecolab that ran entirely online. Two very different jobs, both in the same city.
Client feedback
What clients say about my hosting in Cologne
Looking for a bilingual host for our stand at CCXP 2019, we made the perfect catch with Felix. He not only prepared professionally for specialist subjects like anime, comics and manga, he also more than rocked it when it came to firing up the audience at our artist battles.
Sandra SuppaHead of Corporate Communications at Faber-CastellFelix motivates the audience, brings everyone along and creates a fantastic atmosphere at the stand. Full of energy from the first day to the last. Really outstanding. Number one among hosts, full stop. Highly recommended.
He hosted our complex subject outstandingly, motivated the participants and entertained them superbly.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about an event host in Cologne
And if your question isn't here: just call. Five minutes usually clears everything up.
For trade show appearances and stand stages, product presentations, award ceremonies and galas, congresses and specialist conferences, and for livestreams and hybrid formats. Cologne brings both together: large consumer trade shows on one side, camera and studio on the other.
Yes. At the first CCXP in Germany he hosted for Faber-Castell, with drawing battles between well-known comic artists on the Ultra Stage. And for Ecolab the Food Retail Service Award, which ran as a purely digital event. There is a report with photos on both here.
Yes, at native level. At the international Cologne trade fairs something else matters too: a large part of the audience speaks English as a foreign language. So I deliberately host clearly and at the right pace, so that visitors from Asia or South America can follow completely.
Yes, and with Cologne dates that is the rule rather than the exception. A hybrid event has two audiences: the one in the room and the one on screen. Each needs something different. I have my own studio and have been hosting in front of a camera for years, not only on stage.
No. I organise the journey myself and usually travel the day before, so that nothing on the event day depends on a timetable. For multi-day trade shows I'm on site throughout anyway. I calculate travel costs transparently and as a flat rate.
Honestly: for 100 euros we won't get into conversation. But you don't need to budget for household-name television money either. A fair offer sits somewhere in between – it depends on the scope. Just call: +49 40 1805 80 80.
Those are exactly the moments where I'm sometimes the answer. Call, talk it through briefly – and if it fits, I'm in. It has happened more than once. It has always worked out.
As little as possible. I need a briefing call, the running order and some background – I handle the rest myself. You should be able to sit back. That's what I'm here for.
