Musikfest der Stiftung Würth

The Musikfest of the Würth Foundation is a festival for everyone. People with and without disabilities make music on the same stage, every two years since 2013, in and around the Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau. Felix Uhlig hosted the festival in 2024 and 2026 – the full day each time, from the first act in the morning to the closing.

What sets this job apart from any other is the language. On stage there are choirs, drumming groups, a piano project and inclusive orchestras; in the audience sit the musicians, their families, their carers, and guests from politics and from the foundation. Felix Uhlig therefore hosts in plain language: short sentences, no jargon, every announcement built so that it actually reaches everyone in the hall. That is not a compromise, it is craft – and it decides whether an inclusive festival really is inclusive.

At the 6th Musikfest on 13 July 2024, seven groups performed, among them the Elefantis from Winnenden, the Wazungu drumming group of the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule Künzelsau, the Anne-Sophie choir, the Happytones of Lebenshilfe Buchen and The Braillers of the Würzburg institute for the blind. More than 1,000 guests and musicians came – a record.

At the 7th Musikfest on 11 July 2026 there were nine ensembles and again around 1,000 people. Alongside the performances the programme included hands-on activities, information stands run by charities and guided tours of the Museum Würth 2; a conference on equal participation ran in the morning. For the host that means a day of many small transitions, changing stages and guests who are standing in front of an audience for the very first time. The tone on stage decides how safe those people feel.
