Felix Uhlig, event host

About Felix Uhlig, event host

First Tigger, then hotelier. Today your host.

Felix Uhlig, event host and MC based in Hamburg. On stage since 2010, in English and German.

First Disneyland Paris, where as Tigger I wasn't allowed to say a word. Then Marriott, where I learned how to read a room. It was not a straight path. In the end I needed every step of it.

What that means for your event

Three things that came out of that path

  • I watch the room, not just the script

Class clown, magician, Disney character, hotelier. Very different stations, but every one of them was about noticing what an audience needs right now.

  • A host, not an announcer

Marriott taught me that guests have to feel comfortable before they take anything in. That is as true on stage as it is at reception.

  • At home with the technology

I get on the same wavelength with the director, lighting and sound quickly, and with technical topics on stage just as fast. When it matters, that saves explaining time.

What others say about it

Three people who were there

Felix motivates the audience, brings everyone along and creates a fantastic atmosphere at the stand. Full of energy from the first day to the last. Really outstanding. Number one among hosts, full stop. Highly recommended.

When our original host dropped out at the last minute, Felix stepped into the breach and proactively took over the briefing and the exchange with our speakers. Live on stage he did an incredible job. I cannot recommend Felix highly enough.
Greentech FestivalDale RickertGlobal Head of Product – Greentech Festival
We spent a long time looking for a good host. It clicked in the very first conversations. The briefing went smoothly and he got to grips with our subject straight away. And on stage it was clear: the stage is his. But he also makes everyone feel at ease.

Why tech clients book me

My first computer was a 386 running MS-DOS

Windows 3.0, hand-built websites, ICQ and MSN Messenger. And yes: a few small trojans I slipped to classmates inside image files, so that secret messages suddenly came out of their printer. Didn't we all do that? No? Oops. Today that helps me when I talk to your engineers. I don't have to learn the terminology by heart, I can ask, because the subject genuinely interests me. That usually takes the stress out of a briefing. On top of that: an Apple user since the first iPhone, driving electric for three years, and my home is fully automated – all of it built myself.

My path

From a school report to the stage

Not a straight CV. But every detour contributed something.

  1. School

“He found it hard to curb his urge to communicate.”

That is what my school report says. I was the class clown, consistently. On the side close-up magic, later promotion work for a local TV station. A goal wall to shoot at, a stage, a microphone. I didn't know it back then, but the direction was already set.

  2. Wales

    English, not Denglish

Part of my family lives in Wales. As a child I spent almost every holiday there and for a while I even went to school with my cousins. English was never a school subject for me. You can hear that when I host bilingually, and today it is one of my strongest selling points.

  3. Disneyland Paris

Tigger, Goofy, Captain Hook and not a single word

Character & Parade Department. Thousands of guests a day, and I was not allowed to say a word. That was quite hard for me at first. What I took from it: energy and entertainment have very little to do with volume.

  4. Hotels

    Marriott Bochum, then Scottsdale, Arizona

First bartender, then an apprenticeship as a hotel professional at Marriott, finished with the top grade. After that a year as a management trainee at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort in Scottsdale. A year of nothing but English and five-diamond hospitality shapes you more than any course. And it was there that I understood what being a host actually means.

  5. 2010

Built a website, took photos, became a host

Back in Germany, a stop-off on a cruise ship, then the decision. No network and no agency, but a great deal of energy.

  6. Today

From the trade show stage to the award gala

Tech conferences, product launches, panels, galas, trade show appearances. German, English, often switching within a single show. What has stayed the same: I like entertaining people. And I like winning them over.

Bezzer Quizzer pub quiz

In 2025 I founded Bezzer Quizzer GmbH with a partner. Public pub quiz events in cities across Germany, plus B2B team events in Germany and across Europe. I write the questions myself and host the Hamburg quizzes myself too. Simply because it is fun.

Garden, daughter, toolbox

My favourite time is spent with my family in the garden or out on trips. In between I tinker with the smart home, travel a lot and plan a YouTube channel that has existed only in my head for years. And honestly: that a love of talking turned into a profession still surprises me sometimes. I simply started. Today the stages are bigger than anything I imagined back then, and I stand on stage for brands everyone knows. I am proud of that.
